f5point6, both the artist’s name and musical style convey a strong sense of cinematography. This is intentional as the visual image is central to all the creativity output of R. Cleveland Aaron, also known as f5point6. Cleveland’s successful career as a professional photographer has taken him into many areas, including architecture, interiors, fashion, music and advertising, as well as earning him the role as a Visionary/Mentor with Olympus Digital UK.

Born and still based in east London, his natural love for music and club culture was enhanced by regular commissions from several of the UK’s electronic music magazines. His global travels exposed him to many different styles, which formed the basis of his own sonic explorations even when his photographic work headed in different directions. In particular, Cleveland immersed himself in the world of ambient music, where his visual philosophy based on light, shape and space found much in common. The KaleidoSound project is the result of these studio explorations, meticulously crafted and often using original field recordings as source material, as well as utilising Cleveland’s passion for retro synths and analogue sounds.
